cupcakes

so, i bought myself a box of hostess chocolate cupcakes. i hate hostess chocolate cupcakes. I think they are dry and taste icky. however, the chocolate sheet top is by far one of the best tasting things in the world. I mean, come on, how can you beat the little white switl down the middle. yummidyyumyum. so, i buy the cupcakes, peel off the top, eat that, and throw the rest away. somewhere an etheopian child is dying a little. sid says i have to find someone who likes the bottoms and marry him. i agree. any takers?

In filling out the application, one of the questions is “hair color”. I am very perplexed and have no idea what to write. Thoughts??

black hair

So I’ve always wanted jet black hair. So, being Val’s best year ever, I figured now was the best time to try it out. I just bought one of those dyes thats only supposed to last 10 days, and it didn’t turn out as dark as I’d hoped. Perhaps later I will try a permanant one. Anyways, this is moi with black hair:

Valerie’s Birthday (Observed)

In continuing with my strive to towards having the best year ever, I just had quite possibly my best borthdya ever (even surpassing the infamous 21st birthday party where I got everyone so wasted they were throwing up all over the place).

We went to Parallel 42, a wine bar in Riverside that I heard of through a girl in my magazine writing class who wrote an article on local wine bars. I seriously had the three best wines I’ve ever had in my life: prosecco, an ice wine ($15 a glass, but worth it), and something called Rosa Regale which was seriously the sweetest wine in the world! THe food there was great too, I had some goat cheese in tomato sauce and shrimp wrapped in bacon and they even brought me a pice of chocolate cake (that makes 5 pices of chocolate cake this week, I can open a bakery in my tummy) that was really good and had fruit on top so it was healthy. It was such a great place and we all had fun.

After everyone else left and the bar was closing, MattyK, his friend Adam, and I went over to the Irish Times and had some beer. Adam then proceeded to barrage us with questions about why we’re not dating and told Matt he had to ask me out this week. Hahah. I drank half of Matt’s Guinness and it actually wasn’t bad because it tastes like black coffee. Can you believe it??? 4 good alcohol experiences in one night! (5 if you count the decent reisling I tasted too).

Anyways, Valerie’s Birthday (observed) was superfantasticallyawesome. And I highly reccomend Parallel 42 if you are in the Riverside area.

I love everyone who came, you guys are the best!

i’m so old!

So, 10 minutes left of my 25th birthday! Too bad I am sick :( I left early from work Monday and stayed home Tuesday because of a sore throat, fever, and general ickyness. I feel better than I did, but my nose is all stuffed and I’m coughing like crazy.

I went to lunch with Matt and Matt at Panera for soup to celebrate and after dinner I went out with MattyK to a restaurant where he had a hamburger and I had a piece of chocolate cake. yumyum. He insisted that the waitress would think i was retarded if I not only just ate the cake but also requested crayons to color with. :( I just wanted to make a pretty drawring. While driving to the restaurant Matt originally decided to go to, we passed a different one he thought we might like. I told him that anywhere we go is fine. He immediately pulled into a McDonalds parking lot. Of course, it was only to turn around, but it was funny. hehe. When I was a kid my parents would always ask me what I wanted for my special birthday dinner. I always wanted McNuggets. We even went on a big trip with all my friends to the bug Rock ‘n’ Roll McDonalds once. After cake we went through a weird car wash that had big blue rag things that looked like Muppets. YAY. my real party will be on Saturday night where I swear the
re will be people with names other than Matt.

ew, my nose ring is snotty.

The end.
