commercial roundup
So, who won the best bowl game of the year??? Who knows, they're puppies, they don't know how to actually play football. Of course, it would have been nice to give some sort of score, or perhaps put them on teams. With little uniforms.
Oh yeah, there was real football too, which interrupted my commercials.
The Best
I'd say the best is a toss up between two for best. Bud Light's "Magic Fridge," where a man puts his fridge full of beer on a rotating wall so that his guests don't drink it all. Unfortunately for him, the wall turns around into a neighboring apartment where a bunch of stoner types worship the "magic fridge" that comes to them with free beer. Ameriquest also had a great one where two doctors are standing over a patient laying in bed. A bug is flying around them so one of them uses a defibrillator to zap it. As he stands over the man and dead bug with defibrillators in his hands he proclaims, "Well, that killed him"... just as the man's wife and daughter step into the room. Hehe. They also had a good one later where a lady is on a dark plane and has to get up to go to the bathroom so she tries creeping around the other sleeping passengers. As she does so, the plane has turbulence causing her to fall on the lap of one of the men, pull down his eye mask so it gags up his mouth, leaving her in a very compromising position as the lights of the plane come on for all to see.
The one that made me cry (seriously)
There was a Budweiser one with a little pony who'd trying to pull the sleigh thing, but its really heavy. But then he starts moving it and it's all happy. Then they cut to the back of it where the big horses are pushing it for him. It was sweet and made me cry.
Dumb
OK, so there was this commercial for Pizza Hut where Jessica Simpson comes out trying to be all sexy and is like pizzamolesting this 12-year-old boy. It was very disturbing because he was way too young.
Disappointing
Pepsi. Now, I'm a Coke girl anyways, but Pepsi was pretty disappointing this year. I really liked last years where they had PDiddy (or whatever the hell he goes by) late to an awards show and hitch a ride on a diet Pepsi truck causing a new sensation. This years were crap.
Dumb Product
Gillette Fusion. 5 Blades? I think that's a little too much. Won't by the fifth blade it be taking off a layer of skin? (And their commercial wasn't exciting at all.)
Honorable Mention
Sprint had one where this guy says his phone comes with "crime deterrent" and then starts throwing it at the other guy to hurt him. It wasn't spectacular, but funny.
A robot and a monster fall in love and have a Hummer baby.
One commercial started as a commercial for Fabio cologne, which at first you're all what the fuck? Then think, it's got to be a joke. Then are very relieved that it is. But I don't remember what that one was for, so it's obviously not too effective.
Oh, and they had commercials for this new unscripted TV show Sons & Daughters that actually looked kind of funny. "No offense, mom, but I'd rather kill myself then be in a relationship where sex isn't the number one thing."

what about the fedex one where the caveman kicks the tiny dinosaur and then gets stomped by a huge one at the end?

What about MacGyver? Commercial of the century.

Sid, that one was funny too. hehe. "But, Fedex doesn't exist yet."
Rob, I think I know which one you mean, but I never watched MacGyver and so had no idea who that guy was, so it was kind of lost on me.
