mostly tv

1. Today was my first official day of being unemployed. No frantic RE/MAX phone calls yet. How did I spend my day?? Shopping of course. hehe

2. There was an Americas Next Top Model marathon on VH1 on Saturday. Season 1, which is the only season I have never seen. I was semi-hungoverish (yeahyeah, I can't hold my liquor very well at all) so I basically spent my entire day in bed watching it. You can tell when I've been watching to much ANTM because at the Jewel on Sunday I was practicing my signature model walk down the aisles and when I stopped to pick out the right taco seasoning I broke into my end of the runway poses.

3. I never wrote about the spelling bee! Damn shame. ABC televised the National spelling bee on Thursday. Oh the drama. They did these hilarious little profiles f some of the spellers. They were real dramatic-like like they do for real athletes. They were priceless. There was one kid who spelled a word wrong and was sent packing. Then the judges figured out that they're word list was wrong and she had spelled it right so they brought her back in. The final two came down to a girl who seemed to actually have somewhat of a life and a...Canadian??? How the hell does a Canadian even get into the NATIONAL spelling bee? And, they kept giving the Canadian French words. WTF??? Finally the girl got out on the word "weltschmerz", which she started spelling with a "V." I wouldn't have spelled it correctly, but at least I knew enough that a German word starting with a V sound starts with a "W". So, I never liked spelling bees as a kid, so I don't know why I love watching them now. In fact, whenever we did the classroom ones I'd purposely spell the first word wrong so that I could sit down. I never had any desire to spell in front of people.

4. I turned in my second draft of my story for class today. I hate turning in second drafts because my writing always gets a lot worse before it gets better. At least I am done with school for the summer.

5. On the radio today I heard Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" 4 times. 3 of those times were right in a row. I also heard James Blunt's "Beautiful" 3 times. Silly radio stations all playing the same songs. I also heard a commercial for a Tiffany concert in June. I seriously thought for a moment that I drove through a time warp to the 80s.
