1. Applied for a good sounding job today. But it's only part time and in Orland Park. We'll see.
2. I joined Facebook finally. I just found out from Sid last week that UofI alumni email addresses are free. Who knew? I joined because JoeJoe told me that people from his work are forming a group on there so I can go window shopping in it for cute single men and give him my shopping list. :) Add me as a friend so i look more popular than i am!
3. Went out with JoeJoe and his friend from work to Giordanos. I'd already eaten though when he called so I just ate some garlic bread and a Coke. It's ok because I'm not really a fan of pizza in general (random fact: my favorite pizza of all time is Jewel Brand thin crust frozen cheese pizza. True story.) When Joe called and asked if I wanted to meet him and a guy from work for dinner my first thought was "Gee, you work fast," but it was a guy from out of town and he didn't mean it that way. hehe.
4. I just read about this new reality show from the mind of Ashton Kutcher: Wedding Crashers. Basically, he's going to crash people's weddings and pull pranks. The thought of that seriously made me sick to my stomach. If anyone ruined my wedding I'd cry for months and never get over it. Never ever ever. So, we have finally found out where Val draws the line when it comes to reality TV (yet, as much as I hate it, yeah, I'll probably still watch).
1. I needed a change, so I chopped off all my hair. Well, about 12 inches of it. This morning it was down to my ribs and now it hangs just past my chin. I was going for shoulder length but I always forget that "shoulder length" to a stylist means "two inches above shoulder." It's still all good though.

2. I was supposed to go watch Ferris Bueller in Grant Park tonight but it was raining pretty hard out :( So instead we (me, JoeJoe, Wilkey, Hood, and Hood's friend John) went to "The Big Downtown Chicago Bar" (I LOVE anyplace with such a generic name) and drank some yumyum sangria. I now really want to watch the movie now (even if its not outside on a big screen in the park). I also think I need to go out and have a ferris-style Chicago adventure.
3. I have officially started applying for jobs.
It's time for SNAKES ON A KITTY!

So, I just got back from D.C., my last scheduled event for Val's Best Summer Ever (although since it doesn't officially end until I find a job, whether next week or next February, stay tuned for more events!) and my first time seeing Rob since he moved there like a billion years ago. Yay, 'twas tons of fun! Here's a recap:
Thursday: So, I was supposed to meet everyone in D.C. and go out to a cool seafood place for dinner and drinks and fried donuts, but alas my flight got delayed for about two hours so I arrived much later than anticipated. :( So, when I finally landed, Rob picked me up and we got some Wendys and headed back to his place where we ate and I met Junior who tried to steal my hamburger and fries and eventually knocked down my soda. Sillykitty. Soon after Chris, Christine, Jake, Katie, and Laura came by to say hi so I finally got to meet people I only know lj names for. Yay! But they had to take off shortly after so Rob and I played some Mario three before heading off to bed.
Friday: Long, but fun day. It started with trying to figure out what the heck this Guitar Hero thing was all about. It is apparently a game with fake guitars that you pretend to play. I did ok on the easy level and easy songs (it's easier when I knew the lyrics) but anything involving more than three fingers is beyond my ability.
After failing miserably at videogamedom Rob and I went to get Christine and headed over to the Pentagon for a tour given by her old boss. It was pretty interesting because we got to go to places that most tour groups don't really go like to the inner courtyard (trivia answer: at the center of the Pentagon is an owl, not a hot dog stand) and the media room where I got to pretend to be the Secretary of Defense. It was kind of creepy though that everywhere we went in there were reserves of gas masks for in case of emergencies and kind of funny to see "No driving past this point" signs while on the third floor (since it was originally designed to drive into).
Next up it was off to the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, It was this large temple-like place full of creepy Egyptian-like paintings with a taped commentary that matched-up with lights that illuminated different sections on cue. Rob told me that the masons were kind of like the Stonecutters on the Simpsons so I proceeded to have that damn song on my head throughout the museum (Who made Steve Guttenberg, A Star! We do, we do.) The highlight though was that you got to go out on the balcony on the top floor to see a good view of the city because we all know that I have to see every city from as high up as possible. When we'd had enough of that, we headed back to Rob's, played more Guitar Hero, and got some cheap chicken wings at Clyde's before heading off to see the monuments at night. We all (Me, Rob, Christine, Chris, Katie, Laura, and someone else who's name I don't remember) walked about snapping pics and seeing the monuments all lit up and pretty. We saw the Washington Monument, World War II memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial and on the way back to the metro passed the Korean War memorial which is totally freaky because it looks like all these real people in the dark. Scaaary.

Saturday: Saturday we woke up nice and early to make our way to the National Zoo to see the amnimals. We saw Pandamabears (which were sleeping when we got there, but eventually semi-woke up)

and elemaphants, and GI-raffes and then some hippoooooo!s Then some golden lion tamarinds (which are the cutest monkeys ever) and more monkey and ape-like things and other such small animals.

After the zoo we headed back to Rob's for more guitar heroing and such and then went to see Beerfest, which was actually pretty damn funny. I especially liked that when there was a hot-dog eating contest in one scene all the competitors were skinny little Asians, hehe how true!
Later we watched another movie. A movie that I can't believe I've known Rob for this long and have yet to see. A movie that is probably the only Canadian Kung-fu Vampire Musical starring Jesus. Yup: Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter!! Woohoo! It lived up to my every expectation! Woohoo!
Sunday: Sunday was kind of a lazy-ish day. Rob had a fantasy football draft that was way more important than me so we sat around watching silly TV (I made him watch Trading Spaces and MADE!). When Rob was done acting out his childhood fantasies we headed off with Chris, Laura, and Katie to the Hirshhorn Art Museum which was full of odd contemporary art goodness. There was an Anselm Kiefer exhibit which rocked. The paintings were full of depth (I don't mean a depth of meaning because I don't understand a lot of art, I mean depth as in layers of paint) and texture and a lot of them were more three dimensional with objects hanging from them. He also incorporated some writing into them, which I liked. There were some other interesting pieces throughout like paintings of gumball machines and taped up floors, and television sets flashing images and making an American Flag. Rob wasn't quite as impressed, especially with the paitings that were seemingly just white.

Ah well, can't please them all. But SOME of us liked the art :)

After the museum I bid adieu to Rob's friends and we headed back to his place where we watched the Emmy's and I got my ass kicked in Mario Bros., Monopoly, and some weird monster truck race game.
Monday: Woke up early, said goodbye to Junior, said goodbye to Rob, and cauht my flight home. And I have now successfully made it to D.C. twice without ever seeing the White House!
More pictures later!

I'll be in Washington D.C./Virginia until Monday! Yay! Hmm, I need to either find a job or schedule more vacations now. :) Here is a tentative schedule of doings for the weekend according to Chris:
Thurs: Val shows up, group dinner at Flying FIsh, meet, greet, laugh, shake off jet lag.
Fri: DC At Night. Dinner somewhere or other, go into the city after dark and see monuments. Perhaps late night snacks/drinks if we're feeling bold
Sat: Zoo. See animals, laugh, eat outrageous zoo food.
Sun: Art. See the hirshorn, see awesome art, eat outrageous museum food.
Big ole update complete with lots of pics when I get back!
Last week Andy posted this link in his blog. Basically, the Germans did a study that said that redheads have more sex. Well, who am I to argue with an argument like that???

Yup, I'm a redhead! Well, kind of an orangyhead, but whatever. Now, I actually really liked the blonde but it was time for a change, plus I have goals to attain. Plus I now have a better chance at getting something. And, admittedly, I also kind of do like having more of the Mary Jane Spiderman color. :)
I also baked some of the most delicious chocolate chip cookies ever today:

mmmm. They were supersweet and had just the right amount of crispiness. don't you wish you had some??? Now, its kind of hard to bake cookies when you can only find a ½ cup and a tablespoon. But it did work out in my favor as I disovered the secrets to the perfect chocolate chip cookie:
1. Accidentally pour in about two tablespoons of vanilla extract when the recipe calls for a teaspoon.
2. Buy milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet (why wouldn't you want all sweet??)
3. Accidentally pour in about 9 ounces of chips when the recipe calls for 6.
So, I was supposed to go to a wine bar tonight with MattyK and some of his friends. Alas, his friends ran late with their dinner and weren't going to be able to make it. This made me pout because I haven't gone out in a few days (see below) and I wanted to spend one last night out as a blonde (hehe). So, we decided that we'd go to a wine bar near him instead. Alas, by the time we got there (after a detour to his office) they were closed. What kind of a bar closes at 9??? So, we decided to be ultra classy and go back to his place to have some wine and cheese and crackers. Yup. Wine, Ritz crackers, and American Cheese slices. :) We're classy folk. I tried to make it nicer by making little flowers out of the cheese (like they show on the back of the Ritz box) and his dad even lit us a candle, hehe. It was no Parallel blue cheese stuffed dates and Rosa Regale, but it was yummy all the same.
So, what have I been doing nonstop for the past four days that has lead me not to leave the house??? Working on this: valeriebromann.com! Don't you worry, this site isn't going away, so you'll still get my pointless daily posts, but I needed a more professional alternative to put on my resume so I can apply for jobs. Yay! So, tomorrow will be spent mostly just applying away (and packing for D.C.!).
The end.
p.s. on a scale of one to ten (ten being the worst), how horrible is it that I really like Paris Hilton's new song??? Stars Are Blind
So, if you know me at all you know I kind of have an unhealthy (literally) obsession with milkshakes. Mmm. (Just ask the floor of my Saturn.) I think I like them more than I like Coke and if you know me at all you'd know that's a lot. So, this week I have discovered two new milkshake treats and as a self-proclaimed expert (and as a good way to procrastinate real things that need to be done) I shall share my wisdom into these newfound indulgences.
1. Wendy's Vanilla Frosty. While the frosty is not completely a "milkshake," it is the closest thing Wendy's has. For years and years and years and years you have had only one choice: the chocolate frosty. Now Wendy's has introduced the vanilla frosty. I tried one last week with my double stack. It was...OK. Personally I don't see why anyone would really want to strip out the chocolate from their ice cream. But that may just be me. I will give them that it was very vanilla-ey, not just "plain" tasting. Now, if they introduced a strawberry frosty, then we'd be talking.
2. Ben & Jerry's Milkshakes. So I was shopping at Jewel and there was a little display on the end of the aisle with Ben & Jerry's milkshakes. They're like those bottled frappuccinos Starbucks sells, but without the coffee and with a lot more fudgyness. It kind of tasted just like melted ice cream. But damn, was it yummy. I had the chocolate fudge brownie one yesterday:

YUM! I'ma drinking "Chunky Monkey" as I type. Damn is it delish. There is a Cherry Garcia one in the fridge that will be gone tomorrow. For serious, I need to stop drinking them or I'm going to become a chunky monkey myself.
My boyfriend came home to me! But 'twas only for a day :(
So, JoeJoe is a bigshot consultant now, which apparently involves going to the adult side of California parks and drinking a lot and taking limos. It also means he never ever sees me or talks to me :( hehe. Its funny that it seems so weird not to see him for so long when technically while he was at school I saw him even less. But while he was at school I'd still get to talk to him online every day and then we went and spent three weeks seeing each other 24/7 and I guess that threw me off.
Anyways, last night since JoeJoe was actually in town for the night we met up at the Kerry Piper to try to talk over the god-awful cover band and drink some and catch up. Isla, MattH, Scott, and Scott's brother came and it was tons of fun. I'm trying to convince Joe that, despite the fact that he will be on the road every week, that he needs to move to the city because I want to move to the city and want more people there :) I guess I need to find a job soon if I want to move out.
p.s. he's not really my boyfriend...yet
1. So, the other day a friend of mine (boy 1) tells me that him and another friend (boy 2) have decided that I should not get any more tattoos and that they make me less attractive and that guys don't like tattoos on girls. This of course made me feel like complete crap and made me cry. I was really mad at them both especially since I kind of like boy 2 and I thought then that maybe one of the reasons he doesn't like me back then is that I have a tattoo, which is a really crappy reason to not want to date someone. Turns out though that boy 1 was just imposing his own opinions on boy 2 and boy 2 had only said that he personally doesn't like them and would never get one himself but said nothing of them making me ugly, which I understand. FYI, don't tell your friend that anything about them makes them a less attractive person. It's one thing to say it about a pair of pants or something that can be changed, but saying that my tattoo makes me less attractive is like saying that my eye color makes me less attractive, it's not something I can or will change and it is such a part of me now (I've had it for five years this month) and I have never regretted. And I do plan on getting another within the next year and if any boy doesn't like me because I have tattoos he can go to hell.
2. I bought a dvd of "Giant Spider Invasion" today at the MicroCenter because it was only 99cents. Here is a snippet form the trivia section of IMDB: "In a scene depicting the "giant spiders" attacking a little league baseball game, the "spiders" are obviously Volkswagen Beetles with puppet legs attached. Tread marks from the VW's tires can actually be seen in several camera angles." Sounds like a winner! This brings the total of horror movies I own to 180. Here is a list of all of them, since I know you want to see: Horror Films!
3. You know you take too many photos when the woman at the store says "You take them glossy with borders, right?"
4. My sister is not engaged yet.
5. My dog tried to attack me again yesterday. Luckily he only latched onto my hair with his teeth and not my face like the last time. They should have put that thing to sleep last time I was sent to the emergency room but alas I think my parents love the dog more than they love me.
6. Do you ever hear the first few notes of "Under Pressure" on the radio and get really excited but then realize that it isn't "Ice Ice Baby"?? Yeah, it probably is only me. Anyways, today they played "Ice Ice Baby" on the radio and I was so happy and refused to leave the car until the song was over.
7. Next week is my last scheduled vacation of the summer. I will be visiting Rob and co. in Virginia/Washington D.C. That is the last thing on scheduled events list, so I guess its about time I start applying for jobs. As soon as I find a job. Speaking of which, here's a "Best Summer Ever" update because I haven't done one in a while:

Congratulations Jenny and Adam!

Aw, two of my best friends got married last night and damn, it was about time.
The wedding was simply amazing because Jenny was just the perfect bride in so many ways.
We started the day out bright and early at 9 meeting at the salon to get our hair done. Appropriately, Nad brought the Starbucks along with some fruit and croissants. Our last Starbucks as all single people, ah. Jenny wouldn't let me get a faux-hawk though (at one point while she was getting hers done it so looked like a faux-hawk was in the works, I told her to leave it because it was a great look for her) and the hairdresser told me I looked like Kirsten Dunst. hehe.
After all our hair was (almost) perfect we went back to Jenny's place to do our makeup, put on our dresses, gather our flowers, and start taking some pics!
Then it was off to the church, so we all piled into the limo and hung out in the brides room peeking out of the curtains.

The wedding was beautiful. They did the whole Catholic mass thing, which was kind of weird because they did the ceremony part right in the middle of it, so they did their vows and I dos and rings and kiss...and then went on for a while doing mass things before presenting the bride and groom. Jenny was gorgeous and Adam just looked so happy as he said his vows. Honestly, I don't think I could ever know two people more perfect for each other than those two. :)
After the ceremony we sent them off with bubbles then took more pictures (in the church and at Mayslake Peabody Estate) and rocked out in the limo where Jenny yelled "I just got married" to people out the window and we shared some champagne out of plastic cups before heading off to the reception. A funny thing about the reception hall... I saw two other bridal parties walking around, and each one had a token bridesmaid with a tattoo on her upper back. It was just funny because each bridal party I saw there had one bridesmaid with upper back tattoo. Hehe.
Anyways, we did the whole receiving line thing where I saw some people I haven't seen in a long long time like some teachers from high school Mrs. Marelli and Mr. McOlgan and old friends like Jackie. It was really good to catch up. And one of their relatives said they thought I looked like Kirsten Dunst (so that was twice in one day! I really hope these people mean that in a good way). I am so glad though that there was no videograper, because since the line stopped mostly at the family and breezed past us, I danced away like a good drunken bridesmaid while I waited). They did our introductions next (the families walked in to the theme from Forest Gump nd the bridal party to Eye of a Tiger) and then Jenny and Adam cut their cake (which was PINK! Now, I am all for a pink cake, but considering that everything else in the place was decorated in lilac/lavander, you'd think the stupid cake people would have realized that the cake was supposed to be lavendar!) then it was time to chow down. Soup, cake, pasta, beef, checkien, green beans, mashed potatoes, chocolate mousse (all family style so you could sample it all!) Oh, and really yummy champagne! All the place cards were held on little bells (remember the ones we tied the ribbon around!) so we'd all ring them to get the lovebirds to kiss (I suggested that if we clanked the glasses Adam and Josh, the best man, should kiss, but they didn't go for it). The head table was a blast because we all (OK, the female side of the table) sang along karaoke style to all the songs :)
Adam and Jenny then did their first dance, then she danced with her dad, then we all hit the floor! I swear, Jenny did not miss a song to dance to, she was going all night long! We did our thriller moves, the chicken dance, the humpty dance (Adam's only request), the Electric Slide, Cotton Eyed Joe... hehe.
My hott date MattyK danced with me to all the slow ones and some swing.

He refused to chicken dance but I did get him to electric slide. :) While Nad and I were busy with our bridesmaidly duties, he got all buddybuddy with Nad's fiancé Bryan so we kept joking that we were losing our boys to eachother and that they were going to be BFFs. Hehe. They even scored each others' digits. Oooooo.
I didn't catch the bouquet in the toss :(

I managed to pick up a flower that fell off of it that I determined meant I'd get married some day, but then the stupid staff threw it out. :(
Jenny and Adam danced to the Grow Old with You song from The Wedding Singer, and it was supercute.

Then more dancing, then the last song, Time of Our Lives which Adam almost missed so Jenny had to dance with Nadia for half of it before Adam came running back. The boys refused to lift us up a la Dirty Dancing though :(
As we said our goodbyes (they headed off on their honeymoon this morning) I made sure to remind both Jenny and Adam that the video we showed them how to make a baby, it did not show them how not to make a baby, so to be careful :) and Jenny said that they'd defiantly be "doing their taxes" for months (Full House, anyone???)
It was a wonderful night and an amazing wedding. Jen and Adam are two of my greatest friends. I have known her since third grade and him for at least ten years and could not imagine two people being better for each other. I love them both and I know they love each other and I know that they will have a long wonderful amazing marriage.
Congratulations to them both!
(more pics tomorrow!)
One of my best friends in the whole world is getting married tomorrow!

I have been friends with Jenny since the third grade when we met and bonded over dancing and All My Children. And tomorrow our Jenny is marrying a wonderful guy and great friend who she has been dating for the last eight years. Insert tear.
Tonight was the rehearsal. I get to walk down the aisle first and screw everything up. Yayme. Its weird because even though I am a bridesmaid I get to sit through a lot of it because there is a mass and such. Plus we all stand really far apart. I guess I always think of all the bridesmaids standing close to one another and standing the whole time (although I am kind of glad because my feet would kill me if I didn't). Basically I stand when the priest says to stand, sit when the priest says to sit, and stand when the priest says to kneel. Whatever.
After we practiced the priest gave a speech about how there is no food or drink allowed. Damn, there goes my plan for hiding a big mac in my bouquet. Drats. I decided to sew a pocket on one side of my dress for the hamburger, the other side for the fries, and build one of those hydration system things they sell for backpackers into the bouquet. Hmm, I should market this...
After the rehearsal it was off to the rehearsal dinner, which is where you go to practice eating.
Now, for months and months and months I have been joking with Jenny that (since I dye my hair all the time and every color of the rainbow) I was going to dye it purple to match our dresses for the wedding. So, once we got to the rehearsal, all us bridesmaids snuck away and put on these:

PURPLE WIGS!
Hehehe. See, dye-to-match hair!!!
The rehearsal was fun. Good food (pizza, pasta, salad, and cookies) and a bartender who somehow decided that amaretto sours go in a blender. I got to know Tim (the only person in the wedding party, minus the flower girl, who didn't go to high school with us) and caught up some with Stefan (who will be escorting me down the aisle tomorrow).
Then they gave out some gifts. The guys got beer mugs and shot glasses that had their names, groomsman, and bros for life engraved on them and all us gals got a little putple play purse with lots of Claire's goodness, a silver heart-shaped box engraved with our name, bridesmaid, and friends forever, and a gorgeous necklace to wear tomorrow. It's all really cute.
It was a really happy night, it's good to see that Jen isn't too stressed or anything, she's just really happy and that makes me really happy.

Conversation with MattyK, posted merely because he said not to (hehe):
Val: i saw a commercial that reminded me of you
Matt: commercial, eh?
Val: it was on a tv show where they show commercials from other countries that they can't show in the us
Val: there was a guy at a sperm bank
Val: and he's in the room with all the magazines and such trying to get a sample
Matt: this reminds you of me?
Val: yes
Val: and he can't get anything going
Val: so he finally gives up and goes into the hall but then stops picks up another magazine and goes back in and then gives the nurse his sample and goes away
Val: then the nurse goes into the room to see what magazine he had
Val: and it was a big ad for a motorcycle
Matt: haha
Val: and that reminded me of you if it were a car
Matt: I was going to say. motorcycles aren't my thing :-)
Val: i know
Matt: but a 3 page fold out of a bugatti... oh man
Val: hahaha
Matt: um... better not quote me on that
Just to be clear, this apparently is a bugatti:

And I guess I have to admit that that kind of gets me hot too. :)
....
So, I am getting married on June 12, 2010. Mark your calendars.
Seriously, I need to get married on the 12th since Nad and Jen both are and we thought it would be cute and that's the best day for me to do it on then.
Yeah, so tonight I went out with Nadia, Josh, Stefan, Jenny, and Adam to Parallel 42 (awesome wine bar I have bragged about before) to celebrate our last night of going out together as all single people. The wine was yummy (I had Yellow Fantasy Riesling).
I told Jenny my plans to dye my hair lilac for the wedding (dye to match).
We realized that the video we showed them how to make babies but not how to not make babies.
We found out there is such a thing as history porn.
We decided to jeer on Josh at the Chicago Marathon (yes I said JEER on).
We figured that everyone's had a crush on Adam.
I decided to hire myself out at parties as a forgiver.
We determined that Adam obviously sleeps on the couch at their new place.
We determined that they will be doing their taxes every night for a few months.
Ah, I guess I am not losing a friend, I am gaining an apartment to hang out at. :)
Nad and I went out tonight to get some coffee and freak out about the upcoming weddings. Eep! We also finally picked up the pottery we painted at Jenny's bachelorette party. Now, I have always wanted to paint pottery and thought it would be fun, until I sit down with a mug and some paint and remember that I have no artistic ability whatsoever. Despite that though, it was a lot of fun and I am very happy with how mine turned out. Its amazing what a coat of glaze and a little time in the oven can do:
Me painting the mug (notice the virgin/slut conundrum on my chest):

The final product, put to good use:

Jenny and Nadia's turned out super cute too. (Eep! Less than three days!)
Me: ew, i just realized that comic book guy got it on with both skinners mom and his fiance
Rob: hahaha
Me: this fact freaked me out a little more than it should have
1. I died my hair (again) which makes nine times this year! It's still blonde but a slightly different shade. I just wanted to get rid of my roots before the wedding. This is color number nine of the year, woohoo:

The dilemma now is that I really like my hair blonde and think it looks pretty good. However, I have not reached my goal for the year and therefore must start dying it different colors soon. Oh well.
2. NBC is going to be having a reality show called "You're the one that I Want," which will be a competition to cast the two leads in a Broadway production of Grease. I am so auditioning!
3. I got a catalog for Land of Nod in the mail today. This was a picture in it:

There is a stuffed chicken in the oven! When I saw that I laughed for way too long.
4. So Victorias Secret keeps sending me things for free Pink panties. Each one is a $7.50 value. Now, I've seen others go in with these coupons and only get the free undies. I feel weird doing that so I always end up buying something else too. So, I went twice this weekend to redeem two of these coupons (One time I bought a new strapless bra to go with my bridesmaid dress and then the second time I bought a really sexycute pair of underwear for the wedding because I wanted a really sexycute pair of underwear for the wedding :) ). My sister is the same way. If you have a free coupon do you just go and get the free thing and that's it???
My sister Jen on why she wants to have children right away: "I really don't want kids. But maybe in 10 years I'll want them and it will be too late."
The other day I went with Jen to look at wedding dresses. This is despite the fact that she isn't quite engaged yet. This involved us going nowhere near a store that sells wedding dresses because she just wants a regular off the rack white dress.
We the went to see the new Woody Allen movie which kind of sucked but I don't like Woody Allen in the first place.
I went out with Brandana a couple times this week: wings, coffee, and coffee (although I got a milkshake tonight because I needed it). I spilled way to many of my guts to him so I hope I never piss him off. Or all my secrets are out. :)
I also watched today two of my favorite sports. First some X-Games (which I will count as all one sport) where Travis Pastrana kicked ass in a double back flip (have I mentioned I want to marry him???) and then it was my favorite sport of all time: Competitive Eating!!! Today was the Johnsonville Brat eating contest. Last year Sonya (yes I know all the competitors names, I follow this sport like you follow your fantasy baseball/football/whateverball) won with 35 brats in 10 minutes. Um, yeah, this year Kobayashi won with 58. 58 brats in 10 minutes. I have a "reversal of fortune" after one bite of a brat.
I am starting an ongoing project that I will entitle "Random things you probably don't know about Val" in which I will basically list a bunch of random Val facts that you probably don't know about me (and probably don't want to know). I'll post more as they come to me...
Random things you probably don't know about Val
1. I don't understand Pig Latin. Like, at all. If you speak Pig Latin in front of me, I will have no clue what you are saying.
2. I fear that I will die and no one will maintain my website.
3. I sometimes buy a box of Hostess cupcakes and only eat the chocolate topping
4. I am an avid wisher. Every 11:11, every fountain, every first star, every loose eyelash...
5. I want to be a ballerina
6. I've had more friends with benefits than I've had boyfriends.
7. I bite my toenails (although I've mostly stopped)
8. I like spaghetti with honey.
9. I say y'all all the time and I don't know where that came from.
10. When I got my tattoo I kept thinking how pretty it will look when I'm in a wedding dress.
Now, y'all should post some things that no one knows about you.
